Integrations

Worklayer connects to Slack, Notion, Airtable, Linear, Google (Gmail and Google Calendar) and Microsoft (Outlook mail and calendar), and Claude and other AI tools connect to Worklayer through its MCP server. Connecting a tool gives no agent access to it: an admin chooses which of its actions each agent may use.

What connects, and what agents can do there

Microsoft Teams and Google Meet appear only as meeting links on calendar invites. There is no Teams chat app, so agents can't post in Teams chats or channels. Worklayer has no DATEV integration, no payroll provider integration, no Personio import connector and no Zapier. The approved payroll snapshot is exported for your payroll provider instead.

What it looks like in a workflow

An onboarding agent can post the welcome in a Slack channel, invite the new hire to the team's channels, publish their first-week page in Notion and book the intro meeting with their manager. The meeting is sent from the organiser's own calendar, so it needs that person's connected Google or Microsoft account, and it carries a Meet or Teams link depending on which one it is.

If an agent reaches a step it has no permission for, such as posting to Slack when it was only allowed to read, the step stops and an admin is asked. Every action an agent takes in a connected tool is recorded in its run history.

How permissions work

  1. 1.

    Connect the tool

A workspace admin connects Slack, Notion, Airtable or Linear for the company. Google and Microsoft accounts are personal: each person connects their own in Settings, and agrees at that point to what Worklayer may use, email, calendar or both.

  2. 2.

Choose what each agent may use

A new agent starts with no permissions. An admin picks the tools each agent may use, and for Worklayer's own data whether it may read, or read and write. Controls and permissions.

  3. 3.

    Narrow it later

Change an agent's tools in Worklayer at any time, or disconnect an integration to remove access for every agent at once. A person can disconnect their own Google or Microsoft account.

Use Worklayer from Claude and other AI tools

The MCP server works in the other direction: it lets the AI tool you already use work with Worklayer while you chat, with exactly your permissions. It is included in every plan, including the free plan.

Questions

No. Worklayer has no DATEV integration and no integration with any payroll provider. It prepares the monthly payroll snapshot, your team reviews and approves it, and you export it for your payroll provider or tax adviser. If a direct DATEV connection is a requirement, Worklayer isn't the right fit today.

Only through meetings. When an agent schedules a meeting from a connected Microsoft account, the invite carries a Teams link. There is no Teams chat app, so agents can't send Teams messages. For chat, Worklayer connects to Slack.

Yes. The Worklayer MCP server connects Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor and other MCP clients. You sign in with your own Worklayer account, and the AI tool sees and changes only what your role allows. Set up the MCP server

No. Every integration is included in the price of €10 per employee per month, billed annually, excluding VAT, together with every module and unlimited AI usage, subject to fair use. See pricing

From the address set in the agent's instructions. That can be a person's connected Google or Microsoft account, such as the HR lead's; without one, the email comes from Worklayer's own address, noreply@worklayer.ai. Nobody's mailbox is used unless they connected it themselves.
