How the calculators work
Each calculator applies the statutory minimum rules of German law: the Federal Leave Act (BUrlG), the Part-Time and Fixed-Term Employment Act (TzBfG) for part-time work, § 17 BEEG for parental leave and § 208 SGB IX for severe disability. It shows the working step by step, with the rule behind each step, and every worked example on a page is checked against the same calculation.
Collective agreements, works agreements and employment contracts can grant more than the law. They count only as far as you enter them, so the result is a non-binding calculation, not legal advice.
Questions
Yes. They are free to use and need no account.
For employers, HR teams and employees in Germany who want to check a leave entitlement: what the law guarantees, what a contract adds, and how part-time work, a Minijob, leaving a job, parental leave or a severe disability changes it.
Yes. Enter the days of leave in the contract or collective agreement, and whether it counts working days or Werktage. The result then shows the total and how much of it is statutory. Leave the field empty for statutory leave only.
No. What you enter is processed only in your browser and is neither stored nor transmitted.
No. It is an automated calculation based on the statutory minimum rules, not legal advice, and it does not replace a review of your case. For a binding answer, ask a lawyer specialising in employment law, your works council, or your trade union or employers' association.
The calculators follow the law as of 14 October 2026, and every calculator shows that date. It only moves when the rules have been checked again.
